Dump Table
The dump table on the CNC Plate Fabricator is a rectangular shaped
steel box about 36" high, 24" wide and 6'-0' long. The top is
slightly below the out-feed pinch roll and should allow the steel
plate to travel over it. NOT! Its primary function was
represented to support the steel parts that are cut and dump
them into a container. The table had a slot in the "Y" axis for the
plasma torch to operate. The table was supposed to pivot the top to
allow for dumping the parts into a container. It was supposed to be
copper lined so the molten steel created from the plasma cutting
doesn't collect to the sides. This did not function as represented.
There is a removable dross bin in the bottom for empting the dross
if the plasma ever operated correctly. We found the plasma torch
created so much dross (slag), when the pinch rolls moved the plate
it broke the dump table off the machine or twisted the hydraulic
cylinders breaking the mounts off, again shutting down operations
for repairs.
