COMPANY HISTORY
For near 40 years Sharp Structural,
Inc. served the Structural Steel Construction Industry to establish
a strong, well-rooted structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication
and erection firm. Our desire was to grow into an established firm
with roots and reputation ground deep into the construction
industry, and the local community.
Starting at the age of 14 fabricating wrought iron, repairing farm
equipment, and numerous custom fabrication products the company
rapidly grew to be among the largest reputable steel fabrication
firms in Southern Arizona. At around 21 years of age the president
suffered a broken back. Then again at nearly 32 years old he broke
it again and within a few years endured 2 mild heart attacks.
Something had change to continue the same business.
In the early 90's we began a seven year study of the Steel
Fabrication Industry. Research results utilized all phases including
time study's. We found that the larger companies could utilize
Computers Controlled Machines to produce a number of their products
or at least a labor intensive sector of the item. With further
deeper study we found plate steel was a product used across
industries regardless of the end product. These finding resulted in
our focus on investing in a CNC machine. Only the larger well
capitalized facilities could invest in these machines But, they only
used the machines for their own product line.
Our concept was to bear the initial capital investment and provide
high quality, low cost product available to numerous smaller firms
where their only option was to produce the parts using conventional
methods.
